—Salvador Dali
A rose is a rose is a rose. An artist’s statement, however,
is not a rose, not an art, not an artist, not a state, and not
meant. If it is to be meant, it is not meant to be meant by an
artist, nor stated in an artistic state. If it is to state what
an artist meant, an artist meant to have it stated by not an artist.
What I meant to state is that if that greedy little rat Picasso
had written his own press kit he would have stayed in the cubicle,
not founded Cubism. Men are men are men. Mean is mean is mean.
Suzy Fox is not men, not mean, not mental, yet able to state what
you meant by your art while you stay in your art state and the
state pays you to be in your art state. Alice, these brownies are
delicious. Can I have one more?

When
thou seest an Eagle, thou seest a portion of Genius; lift up
thy Head! When thou seest a Fox, thou seest a portion of
Genius, a portion of Tired, and an equal portion of Nutty, fueled
by Three Olives, One Slice of Cold Pizza and a Half-Gallon of
Tab; lift up thy Feet, then Flee!
